Private Music, Dance and Voice Lessons Information Letter

Dear Parents:

 

West Covina Christian School is excited to introduce to you our Fine Arts Department. We offer private instruction for different musical instruments, dance and voice lessons for your child. We are proud to say that all the students who have taken lessons with us are excellent and responsible students. It will be an inspiring year to captivate your young musician as he or she learns to perform in any of the Fine Arts programs we offer.

The benefits of learning to play an instrument are endless.

 

To name a few;

• Students will learn how to read faster – by reading music on Notes, musical signs etc; tracking is a form of reading.
• Students will learn how to calculate – music rhythm involves accurate calculation; with long-term training, it will help your child to develop Mathematic skills.
• Students physically will be well coordinated - your child will learn to use his or her eyes to track the music, both hands will play different rhythm and the foot to play the pedal. (many music students are also good in sports).
• Students will learn to work hard – practice is required every day. Practice makes perfect. (Both music and sports have this same idea)
• Beautiful music will be produced within months.
• Presentation - Students will perform in front of an audience two or more times a year. He or she will learn to conquer fear, shyness and building confidence.

 

To help us better plan for the placement of each child in our program, we are requesting you to fill in this sign-up form and to stop by the Music table on Class Assignment Days with this form. Mrs. Liu and along with the other teachers will try to answer your questions or concerns as best as possible.

 

The registration fee is $40 for each instrument lesson and voice lesson is due on Class Assignment Day to secure your request. Tuition will be $85.00 per month for Music lessons. This fee is for a half an hour lesson per week from September through June. Dance student’s tuition schedule is on a separate form. Further information will explain the payment and cancellation policy in the Contract that your child will receive at their first lesson.
