School Life in WCCS

“West Covina Christina School” is our school in America, It’s a really great, beautiful and big school. Now, let us show you the school life in WCCS.

We two are in the same 6th grade, but we are not in the same class——one is in Miss Baan Hoffman’ class; the other is in Mrs. Hodgson’s class. First, we will talk about life in Miss Baan Hoffman’ class.

Miss Baan Hoffman is an enthusiastic, funny, patient and earnest teacher. Listen to her class is really interesting. The students in her class are kind, enthusiastic and funny too. After class, they initiate playing with the Chinese students. We and the American students became good friends. That really made us feel like back at our own school.

The life in Mrs. Hodgson’ class is interesting too, because every class she will say some funny things to make us laugh. Every day before lunch, she always gives us some riddles to guess. The students are very friendly to the Chinese students. When it’s break time, they always chat with us and play with us.

During the break time, the American students always play football, although the break time is just 20 minutes, but we all enjoy it ---- we can freely play on the big play ground and buy some thing to eat. They eat lunch very late ----- at 12:40, but their lunches are really more delicious then the lunches in China, and they have many choices with their lunches. They can buy the lunch that they want themselves.

You know, in American school, there’s a lot of differences than with Chinese school. First, in class they learn some different subjects. For example they learn Bible and History, but we don’t. Second, except science, their classes are really easier than ours. Third, every Friday they will have a test to test if all the students had understand the whole week’s teaching. During the test, they always use a big board to defend cheating. On Friday afternoon, they often have parties that only play. And Fourth, they didn’t have any homework on Friday, but in China we have much homework.

Before, in China, we always heard some things about American school. But, some of them were not true. Such as some one said American school had no homework, but in fact they have homework too; some one said American school had no break time for the morning, but actually they have a 20minute break.

We think, the school life in America is really much better, interesting and funnier than the school life in China. We love the West Covina Christian School very much. We will cherish the days in American school. Hope you enjoy our project and the American school life. Thank you!
